maria vashchuk after the storm

Born in 1985 in Kiev, formerly the Soviet Union, daughter of a tailor and an accountant.
I spent my childhood in the Soviet Fashion House in Kiev and in various workshops where my father worked. As the only child in the family, I had room for my own fantasy world.
From craftsmanship, focusing on the texture of fabrics, clothing styles, the interest in design originated. I use my drawings in designing and they are mainly the basis for my paintings.
My psychology studies were more than a 'rite de passage'. The study itself, teaching at the University and a Ph.D. research led to a psychology practice which, after moving from Kiev to the Netherlands, was converted into an online practice for some time.

In a teaching position and beyond were
communication and connection, organising joint activities recurring elements.
It seems that psychology as a profession has already moved into the background and art has emerged.
